Biking and Boxing

Biking (Duration of tour 3.5 hours total – riding distance 14 km over 1.5 hours riding time)
Chiang Mai has developed a strong biking culture and its flat terrain lends itself to exploring the city by bike. On this private half day bike tour you will explore small streets and lanes inside the walls of the ancient walled city moat. During this leisurely tour you will learn about the long history and rich culture of Chiang Mai as you visit four significant temples and culminate in the Somphet market where you can sample local fruits and snacks. The tour is ideal for families and includes an English speaking guide, refreshments, lunch entrance fee, bicycle, safety equipment and insurance.

Thai Boxing (Duration – one hour)
Thai boxing is known as “Muay Thai” is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” or the “Science of Eight Limbs”, because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight “points of contact”, as opposed to “two points” (fists) in boxing and “four points” (hands and feet) used in other more regulated combat sports, such as kickboxing and savate. A practitioner of Muay Thai is known as a nak muay. Western practitioners are sometimes called Nak Muay Farang, meaning “foreign boxer.”

Now you can learn this ancient form of exercise and self-defense with 137 Pillars House in a one hour private Thai Boxing class conducted by an English speaking qualified instructor. The class can be held in the gym or on The Lawn as you prefer. Boxing gloves are provided.
